Step 1 : packing

When you're about to leave your coumfy home for a couple of days/weeks/months, it's really important not to forget anything. As you're about to be all by yourself, nobody is going to be there to repair your silly mistakes.

*Hell, who am I to give those tips, I always forget half of my stuff!* Errr...Anyway.

First of all, you have to figure out what kind of trip you're setting on. If you're going on holidays in an all-inclusive club by the beach, as long as you have enough spare underwears, pants, a bikini/swimsuit, sunspray and thongs, you're good. Have fun sipping on mojitos at the beach-bar. And I am of no use.
But if you're intending to go around a lot, here's what you shouldn't forget :

-A good backpack : it's gonna be your best friend out there

-A camera : very important to be able to remember just how beautiful landscapes were. Or to share with your loved ones. Be careful here, a lot of people can't stand looking at other's holiday pictures. Keep it to yourself if they show no interest, and you will avoid loosing friends.

-A spare SD card : it would be too bad running out of memory after two days of travelling around.

-Enough battery : Same reason.

-Your passport AND a copy of it (that you will store in another place, just in case)

-An emergency number : keep it in your wallet just in case you get attacked/raped/killed/kidnapped. Just sayin'.

-Your toothbrush and toothpaste: if you have to ask directions and you stink like a poney, nobody's gonna help you out bud.

-Money and if possible, the country's currency.

-A phone : might get handy if you decided to climb up a tree and cannot get down.

-A pocket dictionnary from your language to the country's

-Good shoes : really important if you intend to walk a lot.

Alright, if you have all these things, you're already pretty good. You might add other stuff like for example :

-Spare clothes

-Bikini/swimsuit if you're walking around beaches

-Tiny gifts from your homecountry (pin's) to give the people who will help you out on your trip.

Hope it helped, I might add stuff as time goes by!

Mel.
